Top Tips on Tuesdays: Care For Your Face

This is a very important subject, the reason for this is because no one  wants to look 10 years older than they really are. However this could happen if you do not look after your complexion.
It only takes a few steps and a little bit of effort to keep your skin looking youthful and gorgeous.

The first tip is to make sure that the stuff you are using to wash your face is good for your skin. For example,    using a bar of soap to clean your face is a big no no for me.

To get your face looking smooth and radiant you should definitely have a cleansing routine. This routine should be done 2 times a day.
This will stop most of the skin problems. Having a cleansing routine will make your face feel clean and make it look great.
I know for a fact that this works. Ever since I've got into a proper skin routine my face is so much better than it was before.

The next thing to do to get great skin is decide and find which product is best for you. This will of course depend on your skin type.
I went through year trying to find the right product for my skin. I tried out so many face washes, I even went to the doctor who prescribed me certain creams to clean up my acne etc.
Finally, touch wood it looks like I've found the products that are working for me.

There are so many products out there from drugstore ones to high end ones, so there is bound to be a product that fits your skin type.If you don't want to try out a drugstore face wash because you're scared that your acne will get worse then go to the doctor or a dermatologist like I did and he/she will take a look at your skin and give you something that will probably work well on your skin.

The next thing that you can do to get healthy skin is look up home remedies on google or youtube. I got a great homemade toner off the Internet. Take a look at it here

Another good thing to do is moisturize, especially if you have dry skin.
When moisturizing during the day use a gentle one so it sinks in well, leaves your skin feeling soft and it also helps your foundation and concealer stay on well.
When you moisturize at night it is fine to use a thicker one, this is good because it works well during the night,  and in the morning you wake up with lovely soft skin.

The next tip is a very common one and it's to drink water. Click here for my blog on water.

A bad habit that a lot of people do, and I am guilty of this, is touching the face. It's important to try and not do this. The reason for this is because our hands have oils on them and these oils will clog our pores which will then lead to blemishes, so however tempting it is to do this do not pick at your spots or if you do make sure your spots are ready to pop. If they're not ready it will only make them worse.

The last tip is something that I actually don't but probably should do, and this is to protect your face with an SPF. If like me you don't do this maybe we should start to, because otherwise over time our skin will get damaged due to the ultraviolet rays.

Here is a picture of someone who didn't use an SPF

So there you have it, my tips of the week

Top Tips On Tuesdays: Fruit & Veg

http://topnews.in/health/files/Fruits-and-Veggies.jpg

We all know that we should have 5 fruit and vegetables a day. I know that I don't, so I'm not here to tell and  force you to only eat fruit and veg, however I've been reading up on why it's good for you and how it helps our body. So I'm going to share some things with you on fruit and veg today.

Fresh fruits and vegetables do not contain any fats and have very little salt in them. This is why it is so good to change your morning sugar snack such as chocolate for a piece of fruit or vegetable.
This helps with weight loss because they are low in calories but they fill you up.

The fibre in the fruits and veggies are excellent. They really keep your bowels healthy.

Fruit and vegetables have antioxidants in them which are really good for flushing out all the bad stuff that is in your body.

The vitamins and minerals in fruits and vegetables keep you healthy which we all want.
Eating fruit and veg really help us to get healthy, glowing clear skin.

Fruit and vegetables might help to protect us from getting diseases such as heart disease, strokes and some kind of cancer.

Eating brightly coloured fruits or vegetables such as carrots or blueberries help with the eyesight. They both have vitamin A in them and this helps to maintain healthy eyes.

Castor Oil

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfIXsNHPFptLwh97rzLd7-Tnq4MNF-YpyWwHuCQj1aCtMOSLxv9ZIMWRPVdYrMFOep_a8f-7banA_Lge5H-tzEcTVdBnvK0nkol-mSqp-khw3LlvG2sgUc4ImPz7CZq4E2tvoAtekqtmo/s320/CastorOil.jpg

Today I want to tell you guys what I use castor oil for, why I started using it, how I use it and if it helps.
So the reason I started using this product is because a couple of months ago I had a really bad experience with my hair. I kept scratching my scalp then I change my shampoo and it got better however one day I ran my fingers through my hair and felt a bald spot on my head. I totally freaked out as someone would and immediately started looking on google and youtube for a cure. The videos that I watched and the articles that  I read all said that castor oil was a good way of growing hair.
So the next day I rushed out and bought it. That night I started using it and I am so grateful to whoever made castor oil because it worked.
I've recently started using it on my eyebrows, seeing at they were measly little things and I hated them. I don't know why I didn't have the idea before. I've only been doing this a week or so and it has already made a major difference.

How I use it on my hair

What I do is before bed I put it all over my head especially on the place where it is needed the most, then I tie my hair up in a bun and put it in a swimming cap and leave it over night.
The next day I have a shower and wash my hair thoroughly two times.
I do this every other night.

How I use it on my eyebrows

Every night before bed I take a cotton bud dip it in the castor oil and then take it over my eyebrows a few times.

Have any of you used castor oil? Do you use it for something else? What is it? Do you like it?Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Naked 2!!!!! :)

Today I received the Naked 2. I am sooo happy since the Naked palette 1 or 2 was on my wishlist and I thought I would have to wait ages before I could afford it. However my 2 greatest friend bought this for me as an early birthday present.
It is so beautiful, the camera just doesn't so this palette justice.
I'm so excited to use it. I'll definitely be doing blog posts on this palette and when I get my youtube channel up I might do some tutorials on how I use it.

Have you got the Naked or the Naked2? How do you like it?

Top Tips On Tuesdays: Let It Out

I did contemplate putting this on my other blog seeing as it isn't beauty or fashion related, however I did state          that I would be talking and giving tips on absolutely anything. So I will be always doing Top Tips On Tuesdays on this blog.

So after this long winded introduction lets get onto todays subject.
Today I want to write about what you can do when you're feeling down, or having a hard day. Well my advice is very simple and probably quite obvious. The best way to get you through bad times is either talk to someone or write it down in a diary.

As you get older it will probably get easier for you to talk to your parents. I know that now I'm older I tell my mum nearly everything and if I'm worrying about something I talk to her about it. This helps because she can advise on what to do, it's also nice to have a cuddle with her as well, that always makes me feel better.

So talking to a family member whether it's your sibling or a parent really does help. However I know that if you aren't very close to your family or you are in your teens you don't feel like telling your family how you are feeling.
If you are one of the above then you should just write your feeling down. I always used to keep a diary when   I was growing up. I had an awful time at school and was not the happiest at home, so writing it down really helped me. When I had written in my diary after a hard day, my concerns were much less and I wasn't holding anything in anymore. You need to share your problems because not talking or writing about them won't make things any easier. They will just accumulate inside of you until you can't take it anymore, and nobody wants that. So keep a diary, it can be handwritten or kept on the computer. It isn't obligatory to write in it everyday, just write in it when you feel like it. It can be filled with sadness, anger, happiness, whatever. The diary is yours and yours only, no one needs to know what's written in it they don't even have to know.

Writing down and sharing my feelings with someone is so helpful to me. It makes things just that little bit easier. I don't know what I would have done growing up if I hadn't kept a diary. I also don't know what I would do without my mum helping me out all the time.

What is your approach to dealing with problems or bad days? Tell me in the comments.

Products I've Used Up

As some of you might know in a few weeks I'm moving back to England, click here for my blog on that and life in general. So I decided to try and use up as many products as possible so I'm not wasting anything.

So here are some of my empties.

Seaweed Extract Body Butter.
I got this as a present ages ago and when I first started using it I wasn't crazy about, I liked the smell but I found it was a bit too thick for me. However recently I started reusing it and found it so great and it left my skin so soft, moisturized and lovely smelling.

Palmolive Mineral Massage Shower Gel
I've been using this product for a long time now about 3 or 4 months and I'm loving it. I use it everyday in the shower and it exfoliates my skin really well. I come out of the shower feeling so soft. The smell is lovely really refreshing.
This shower gel contains Aloe Vera and Dead Sea Salts which have healing properties in them so if you have an irritation or graze it does wonders to the skin.
After using this my skin feels so hydrated and relaxed. I use it together with my scrub gloves and it works a treat.
Another thing that I love about this Product is the colour. It is really inviting and bright.

Nettle Shampoo for Greasy Hair
Like the palmolive shower gel I have been using this for quite a few months as well. I started using it because I was having really bad problems with my hair. It would get dirty really quickly which I never used to have a problem with and it would be really itchy. It got so bad that my scalp had scabs on it because I had been scratching so bad. Yeah I know disgusting right?
So the shampoo and conditioner that I was using was not working for me at all and I just didn't know what to do.
I then was talking to someone and we got onto the subject of hair and she said that she has the same symptoms as me. She told me that she had just bought a nettle shampoo.
The next time I was at the supermarket I was looking at the hair products and saw the nettle shampoo that she had been talking about. So I grabbed it and since then have not used anything else. It fixed my scalp problem and I am so thankful. It makes my hair so soft and every time I wash my hair it feels so fresh.
This shampoo is also a bargain. It is under €2.

Tea Tree Essential Oils
I picked this up last time I was in England because they don't seem to have it in Italy. I have used it in my homemade face masks and I now use it in my homemade aspirin toner. Go here to read my post on that.
Tea tree oil is really good for the skin and helps clear up acne seeing as it has anti - bacterial properties in it.
If you get it as an essential oil like me you should always dilute it with water otherwise it could cause skin irritation.

Hansaplast Disinfectant Liquid
So I use this for my homemade toner, so I might be cheating a bit because I still have my homemade toner but oh well.
This is already my second bottle of disinfectant. Ir's so simple to use and you can use it on it's own or like me make a toner using it.
I will definitely be repurchasing this product.

Soap and Glory Hand Made Hand Cleansing Gel.
I also bought this last time I was In the UK. I was in boots and saw this and seeing as my other one had just run out I decided to pick this up.
I think it's really cute and easy to fit it you handbag. I love the fact that it's pink and it has such a gorgeous smell.
It is also a disinfectant, so a win win really.

Nivea Creme
A couple of months ago I was in a beauty shop and I saw these mini Nivea Creme. I picked one up for my dad because he was getting really dry hands and seeing that they didn't cost very much I got another one for me.
I like this product, however it is very thick so I wouldn't advice using it as a day cream. I used it on dry patches on my arms and also as a hand cream and it worked really well.
Also you get quite a lot of product in the pot. As I said I purchased it a couple of months ago and I've only just finished it.

There are my empties.
Have you used any of these products? How did you find them?

Homemade toner

A couple of weeks ago I was running out of my Nivea Toner and knew that I would have to get a new one
soon. The only thing was that I didn't really think it was doing much for my skin. The next day I was looking things up on Google and I came across a homemade aspirin toner. I thought it sounded quite interesting and decided to try it out. So I went to the supermarket and got all the things I needed, went back home, made it and tried it out.
I cannot tell you how much I love this Toner. It has done wonders to my skin. It helps clear up my blemishes really quickly and my skin has improved miraculously.
It is so much better for your skin than drugstore/supermarket toners because it doesn't have perfume in it and the aspirin helps with spots being an anti inflammatory.
This toner works so well for me and I highly recommend it. It takes just a few minutes to make and then you can use it straight away.
The only bad thing about it is the smell. It is not a nice smell at all but once you've put it on your face it doesn't bother you.

What you need.

Disinfectant (any will do). I use the Hansaplast disinfecting liquid.
10 aspirin (Again any will do)
Tea Tree oil ( Optional)

How to make it.

Pour all the disinfectant into an empty bottle ( plastic is fine)
Add the 10 aspirin and let them dissolve (They won't take long)
Add a few drops of Tea Tree oil (Like I said above, it's optional)
Shake it all up and it's ready to be used.

So there you have it. A really easy to make, cheap toner.

Have any of you used an aspirin toner before? How did you find it?
Maybe some of you make you own toner. What's it like?
If you'd like to share it write a comment below.

Bye lovelies.

Top Tips on Tuesdays: Drink up

We all know that it is important to drink lots of water. However some of us (until now me included) don't know why our body needs so much  water.

Did you know that drinking water helps with losing weight? This is because it replaces all the sugar and calories that are in fizzy or sweet drinks. Water of course doesn't contain carbohydrates, fat, sugar or calories.

Water gives us energy. If we don't drink water we get dehydrated which can lead to dizziness and feeling very tired and weak.

Alot of the time when we have a headache it is because we are dehydrated. So it is important to drink lots of water.

If you want healthy glowing skin along with other things you should drink water. I know for a fact that drinking water will improve your skin. You won't see results over night, however if you drink alor of water each day you will see a difference in about a week.

Water is needed to digest our food properly. Water can help to cure stomach problems and I know it's disgusting to think about but it can cure constipation which is caused by dehydration.

It is important to drink water because it cleanses our body by getting rid of the toxins that we have in our body.

Water is very important when we exercise. Make sure you are hydrated, not only before exercise but also during and after.  This is because being dehydrated while exercising puts strain on your body and this means that you won't be able to exercise at your best.

So the next time you're thirsty and you pick up a sweet or fizzy drink think about replacing it with water.
I know it's boring and I much prefer drinking coke or Iced Tea, but water is so good for us and it is an essential.
